😩 For months, I’d been wrestling with a persistent problem: eye strain.
For months, I’d been wrestling with a persistent problem: eye strain. Staring at screens all day, whether for work or winding down with a movie, left my eyes aching and my head throbbing by evening. My old glasses just weren't cutting it anymore; they felt outdated, both in style and in their ability to truly protect my eyes from the relentless digital glow. I desperately needed a new pair – something sleek, comfortable, and, most importantly, equipped with proper blue light filtering to combat the digital fatigue. I was scrolling through various online retailers, feeling overwhelmed by the choices and unsure where to start, when an ad for Cinily Eyewear popped up, showcasing their diverse range and competitive prices. What particularly caught my eye was the promise of stylish frames designed for modern computer users, like the TAG Brand Eyeglasses. I needed something practical yet chic, a pair that could seamlessly transition from a serious work meeting to a casual evening out. The thought of finally getting some relief for my strained eyes was incredibly appealing, and I felt a sense of hope that this might be the solution I was searching for.
My decision to purchase from Cinily Eyewear was a mix of convenience and cautious optimism. The website was clean and easy to navigate, allowing me to filter by frame type, material, and even specific lens features like blue light protection. I spent a good hour comparing different models, reading product descriptions, and virtually trying on frames using their online tool. What ultimately sealed the deal for me was the competitive pricing, especially for the anti-blue light lenses I so desperately needed. They also offered various shipping options, including what appeared to be a "next-day delivery" for an extra fee. Given my urgency, I opted for this expedited service, hoping to get my new glasses as quickly as possible. The checkout process itself was straightforward, and I felt confident I’d made a good choice, eager to finally alleviate my eye strain. I carefully uploaded my prescription, double-checking every detail before hitting "confirm order."
Then came the waiting game, which quickly turned into a rollercoaster of anticipation and frustration. I had paid extra for "next day delivery" for my TAG Brand Eyeglasses, so I expected them, well, the very next day. However, a few hours after placing my order, I received an email stating that my order was "in process and would take 3 business days." This immediately set off alarm bells, and I recalled a particularly scathing review I had seen online: "This place is nothing more than an automated business that cares nothing about its customers. They are a fraud, ripping customers off for services that they charge for and do NOT provide. I ordered twice from them before, without any need to return or exchange, so I never understood the negative reviews. The third time I ordered, their site said “eligible for next day delivery”. That would typically mean “next day”, right? So, I pay for the $19.95 next day delivery fee, pay for my glasses and hours later receive an email stating that “my order is in process and will take 3 business days”. Where is next day? Wait…it doesn’t stop there. I call their toll free line…automated…no human intervention. I try their “live chat”…automated bot. I email both their customer service and returns department asking for a refund of my $19.95 next day delivery fee since it’s clearly not meeting the requirements…crickets. I call their toll free number back and keep going through the menu and trying different options. I try the one that asks if I want to place an order…bingo, I get a human. So I propose my issue to that person and after several moments on hold I get told “I will submit your request to the billing department and it will be up to them”. Ummm, nope…you’re not providing a service that I paid for…refund my money. Agent wasn’t hearing that and ended the call. Horrible business. Horrible customer service. Everything is automated and forces you to interact with a live chat bot or an endless phone system that they hope you’ll just give up on from pure frustration. I will NEVER do business with this place again and will spread this review like the plague. Update 02-24-2024: Order placed 02-18, Label created 02-20 (not shipped as they stated), UPS in possession of package 02-21, Item in transit 02-22, Item delivered 02-24. Not “next day delivery” as their site clearly stated. Nothing to “produce” as the glasses had “Plano lenses” with no prescription so still not sure of the delay in “production”. Still would not recommend this company based on their lack of replies to 6 emails requesting help. Their sugar coated response is lack luster and a poor attempt to cover up their extremely lacking customer service. Purchase elsewhere and avoid the issues that so many are having with this company." This review, by Michael Oakes, echoed my exact concern about the "next day" promise. My own order, placed on February 18th, 2024, didn't show a shipping label until February 20th, and finally arrived on February 24th, 2024, far from "next day." My heart sank as I experienced a similar frustration with the delivery, though I was spared the customer service ordeal because I decided to wait it out.
Despite the frustrating shipping delay, when my TAG Brand Eyeglasses finally arrived, the initial unboxing experience was surprisingly pleasant. They came in a sturdy, branded case, which was a nice touch, contradicting another minor complaint I’d seen about other companies only providing a cloth pouch. The frames themselves felt solid and well-constructed, not flimsy at all, and the matte black finish was exactly as pictured – understated yet stylish. The lenses looked perfectly clear, with a subtle blue tint that suggested effective blue light filtering. They felt lightweight on my face, and the fit was just right, snug without being tight. My initial apprehension due to the shipping delay began to fade as I held the glasses in my hands; they looked and felt like a premium product, certainly exceeding my expectations for the price point.
In terms of actual usage, my TAG Brand Eyeglasses have been a mixed bag, primarily due to the delivery discrepancy. However, focusing solely on the product itself, I’m genuinely impressed. The blue light filtering is a game-changer; my eye strain has significantly reduced after long hours in front of the computer. The clarity of the lenses is exceptional, and my vision feels crisp and comfortable. The frames are lightweight and don't dig into my nose or behind my ears, even after wearing them all day. They’ve become my go-to pair, replacing my old ones entirely. The only lingering issue, as highlighted by Michael Oakes's review and my own experience, is the disparity between the advertised "next day delivery" and the actual shipping time. While the product quality is high, Cinily Eyewear's shipping and the automated customer service experience, as described in detail by Michael, certainly leave room for improvement. If you're not in a rush and can tolerate potential delays, the product itself is fantastic.
Overall, my experience with Cinily Eyewear and the TAG Brand Eyeglasses is a classic example of "good product, questionable service." The glasses themselves are excellent: stylish, comfortable, and effective at what they promise, particularly for digital eye strain. They genuinely solved my core problem. However, the misleading shipping promise and the potential for a frustrating customer service experience, as vividly detailed by Michael Oakes’s review, are significant drawbacks. I would recommend these glasses to anyone looking for affordable, high-quality computer-friendly eyewear, but with a strong caveat: manage your expectations regarding delivery speed, especially if you opt for expedited shipping. If you need glasses urgently, it might be safer to consider other options or prepare for potential delays. For those prioritizing product quality over lightning-fast delivery, these eyeglasses are definitely worth considering.
